Halt of Support from MEXC Exchange
On August 18, 2022, the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit (KoFIU) announced that MEXC was identified as one of the illegal business operators with unregistered Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), reported to the investigative authority [source: https://www.fsc.go.kr/eng/pr010101/78319].
As a result of this significant issue, the HUNT core team promptly took action and requested compliance with regulatory guidelines in South Korea, leading to the suspension of our support for the exchange. We have communicated that the HUNT team can only resume operations once the illegal activities of MEXC have been resolved.
However, MEXC has not provided any information or plans regarding this issue to the team and has continued its illegal business operations, specifically targeting the South Korean market. They have persistently offered Korean language support, engaged in Korean-targeted email marketing, and promoted their services on social media without registering as a VASP.
Consequently, the HUNT team has made the decision to permanently cease supporting the HUNT trade on MEXC.
If you currently possess HUNT assets on MEXC, we urge you to withdraw them immediately to other supporting exchanges or your personal wallet. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any potential losses related to the conduct of business by MEXC and its associated risks.
